macOS 15 is macOS Sequoia. The old built-in PPTP setup is no longer suitable for current macOS. Use Wirelayer's OpenVPN configuration files with the official OpenVPN Connect app.

1. Sign in to your Wirelayer account and open the OpenVPN config section in the customer area.
2. Download the .ovpn file for the server you want to use.
3. Download OpenVPN Connect for macOS from the official OpenVPN site and install it by opening the downloaded .dmg and dragging the app to Applications.
4. Launch OpenVPN Connect from Applications and complete its first-run prompts.
5. Import your Wirelayer profile using one of these methods:
   • double-click the downloaded .ovpn file, or
   • open OpenVPN Connect and upload the file from My Profiles.
6. When OpenVPN Connect asks for confirmation, approve the import.
7. If macOS asks whether OpenVPN Connect may make changes to your system or add VPN configurations, approve the request and enter your Mac password or Touch ID.
8. If the imported profile asks for VPN credentials, enter the username and password from your Wirelayer welcome email or control panel.
9. Turn the profile on to connect.
10. After the status changes to Connected, verify your traffic is flowing through the VPN before you start browsing.

Later, you can reconnect from the OpenVPN Connect app without importing the profile again unless you download a new server profile.

macOS 26 is macOS Tahoe. Use Wirelayer's OpenVPN configuration files with the official OpenVPN Connect app instead of the old legacy VPN setup.

1. Sign in to your Wirelayer account and open the OpenVPN config section in the customer area.
2. Download the .ovpn file for the VPN server you want to use.
3. Download OpenVPN Connect for macOS from the official OpenVPN site and install it from the downloaded .dmg.
4. Open OpenVPN Connect from your Applications folder.
5. Import the Wirelayer profile by double-clicking the .ovpn file or by using the My Profiles import option in OpenVPN Connect.
6. Approve the profile import when OpenVPN Connect asks for confirmation.
7. If macOS Tahoe prompts you to allow the VPN configuration or system changes, approve the request and authenticate with your Mac password or Touch ID.
8. When prompted, enter your Wirelayer username and password.
9. Enable the imported profile to connect.
10. Once the profile shows Connected, your Mac should be using the Wirelayer VPN tunnel.

You can keep multiple server profiles in OpenVPN Connect and switch between them whenever needed.
